Sebastian Frisch is a storyteller whose artworks invite audiences to explore the poetic aspects of their surroundings. His research focuses on spatial listening, (bio)acoustic processes, and multisensory environments. As an artist, musician, and developer, my work focuses on creating hybrid instruments that integrate natural processes with digital components, revealing poetic dimensions of our environment. This background led me to contemplate how different perspectives and approaches to technology and computation could open new venues of research and knowledge generation.

Sebastian holds a dual degree from the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, respectively, a Bachelor of Arts in Design with a focus on Sound Art and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with the focus on Game and Augmented Reality. In 2014, he received a Master of Music from the ArtScience Master’s program at the Royal Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.

In 2011, Sebastian founded studio freshmania to provide a framework for his interdisciplinary research at the intersection of art, science, music, and technology. His works have been presented at festivals, galleries, and institutions such as Ars Electronica Festival (Austria), GOGBOT Festival (Netherlands), Boom Festival (Portugal), Zone2Source in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Oddstream Festival (Netherlands), Salzburg University of Applied Sciences (Austria), and V2_, Lab for the Unstable Media (Netherlands).
